KCCF
We exist because children were dying needlessly
OUR STORY
A crisis hiding in plain sight
- 2023 Founded
- 49 Children & Counting
- Expanding Our Reach
In 2023, Abdullahi Sarki Muhammad witnessed the suffering of children with cancer at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital and felt compelled to act. Together with close friends who shared his conviction, he established the Kano Childhood Cancer Foundation—a registered NGO dedicated to ensuring no child in Kano dies from cancer because their family could not pay.
The foundation operates in close partnership with the AKTH Pediatric Tumor Board, a clinical body that reviews cases and recommends children who need financial support. KCCF covers the costs of chemotherapy, drugs, laboratory tests, surgery, food, and other essential needs—currently supporting 24 active patients with ₦700,000 in monthly treatment costs.
