Treatment & Chemotherapy
KCCF currently funds ₦700,000/month in chemotherapy and medications for active patients. We cover the full cost — drugs, lab tests, and surgery — for families who cannot pay
AKTH Tumor Board Partnership
KCCF works directly with the AKTH Pediatric Tumor Board — a panel of clinicians and experts — who review every case and recommend which children need financial support and what typ
Food & Nutrition Support
Cancer treatment requires children to be nutritionally stable before chemotherapy can begin. KCCF provides food to children during treatment to reduce financial pressure on families.
Family Counselling
Receiving a cancer diagnosis is devastating. KCCF provides psychosocial counselling and emotional support to families navigating treatment, helping reduce anxiety and improve quality of life
Treatment Support
Our Treatment Support Program ensures that children from low-income families receive full or partial funding for medical care.
Through our partnership with the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital Tumor Board, KCCF supports:
Chemotherapy and essential medication for children diagnosed with cancer
Diagnostic and laboratory investigations to aid early and accurate diagnosis
Surgical and post-surgical care, ensuring smooth recovery and reduced complications
In-patient hospital support, covering consumables and emergency care needs
Nutritional & Psychosocial Care
Cancer treatment takes a toll on both the body and the spirit.
KCCF provides nutritional packages for children undergoing chemotherapy and recovery — ensuring that their bodies are strong enough to fight back.
We also extend psychosocial support to families, helping them cope emotionally with the stress of long hospital stays and uncertainty.
Through counseling sessions, community visits, and follow-up care, we strengthen families’ resilience and bring dignity to their experience.
Outreach & Awareness
Most childhood cancer cases in Northern Nigeria are detected at very late stages due to lack of awareness.
KCCF’s Outreach and Education Program takes information directly to the people — markets, schools, mosques, churches, and rural communities — teaching parents and caregivers how to recognize early warning signs of cancer in children.
So far, the foundation has conducted two major statewide awareness campaigns reaching thousands of people across Kano State.
